Sorbus International Selects Zoku NetSuite POS for B2B and D2C Trade Counter and Trade Show Operations

Sorbus International has selected Zoku to support its NetSuite connected Point Of Sale operations across trade counter, showroom and trade show environments.

Based in Frome, Somerset, Sorbus International supplies specialist products for arboriculture, forestry, utilities, horticulture, landscaping and grounds maintenance, including PPE, work clothing, tools and related services for customers in the UK and overseas. Sorbus serves both professional trade customers and direct customers across specialist product categories where product availability, account workflows and operational accuracy matter.

Sorbus chose Zoku because it needed more than a conventional retail POS. The business required a Built for NetSuite POS capable of supporting both B2B and D2C selling, while keeping NetSuite as the system of record and source of truth for customers, items, inventory, transactions and financial data.

Built for B2B and D2C Selling in NetSuite

Zoku POS will support Sorbus International across permanent and temporary selling environments, including trade counter operations, showroom selling and industry trade shows.

The Sorbus requirements include POS operations at Sorbus HQ, Sorbus Exhibition Stock and APF 2026. Sorbus HQ and Sorbus Exhibition Stock are configured as bin enabled NetSuite locations, while APF 2026 is included as a dedicated POS location for event selling.

This is especially important for a specialist supplier serving both trade customers and direct customers. Zoku POS supports anonymous walk in customers, known B2C customers and known B2B customers with credit terms and credit limits. The Sorbus requirements also include customer search, customer registration, invoice payments and the ability to submit sales with unpaid amounts for customers with existing NetSuite credit limits.

Why Sorbus International Chose Zoku

Sorbus International chose Zoku because it combines the capabilities required for a specialist B2B and D2C supplier operating across trade counter, showroom and trade show environments.

Built for NetSuite POS for Retail and B2B

Zoku POS is designed for NetSuite based businesses that need connected selling across retail and B2B operations. Zoku is a NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer Network partner, and the Sorbus proposal identifies the included Zoku solutions as Built for NetSuite certified.

NetSuite as the System of Record and Source of Truth

Zoku extends NetSuite to the point of sale, helping keep customer, item, inventory, transaction and financial data governed in NetSuite. This is central to the Sorbus deployment because the business needs POS activity to align with NetSuite instead of creating a separate sales, inventory or customer data silo.

Zoku Sync Native NetSuite Integration

At the center of the solution is Zoku Sync, Zoku cloud integration platform. The Sorbus scope includes Zoku Sync as a cloud based integration platform with the standard integration between NetSuite and Zoku applications, plus support for extensions to third party API services.

B2B Trade Counter Workflows

For B2B trade counter operations, Zoku will support customer specific pricing using NetSuite customer price levels, customer item pricing and customer item price groups. The selected sales flow is invoice by default, with fallback to sales order for delivery, and the POS can capture PO numbers when applicable.

Zoku POS also supports B2B customer account workflows, including sales with unpaid amounts for customers with existing NetSuite credit limits and payments against outstanding invoices.

D2C Selling Workflows

Zoku also supports D2C selling workflows for walk in customers and known consumer customers, including barcode scanning, item search, product menus, multiple payment methods and receipts.

This allows Sorbus to serve direct customers and trade customers from the same NetSuite connected POS platform.

Trade Show Selling

Sorbus also selected Zoku for trade show selling. Sorbus lists APF Exhibition 2026 as a key industry event, describing APF as the UK largest forestry, woodland, arboriculture, firewood, fencing, trees and timber trade show, with more than 320 exhibitors and 23000 visitors.

The Sorbus requirements identify trade shows as busy periods, with approximately 3000 transactions over three days and potentially slow or unstable internet conditions.

Bin Selling from NetSuite Locations

A key operational requirement is bin selling. Zoku POS will support sales from NetSuite bin enabled locations by including the required inventory detail for bin assignment when transactions sync back to NetSuite.

The POS will first attempt to assign stock from the preferred bin, while allowing staff to manually select the correct bin when required. This is important for a specialist supplier where trade counter sales need to remain aligned with NetSuite inventory management.

Line Level VAT Override

Zoku will also support line level VAT override for eligible products. This allows Sorbus staff to apply the correct tax treatment at the item line level based on customer type and ensure the selected tax code syncs back to NetSuite.

This is highly relevant for a business selling professional PPE and specialist equipment to both individuals and companies.

Extending NetSuite to the Point of Sale

With Zoku POS and Zoku Sync, Sorbus International can support B2B and D2C selling through a NetSuite connected POS platform built for operational complexity.

From the trade counter to major industry events, Zoku helps Sorbus extend NetSuite into the customer facing sales process while keeping NetSuite as the central source of truth.

Sorbus International chose Zoku because it needed a Built for NetSuite POS for both B2B and D2C operations, with Zoku Sync keeping NetSuite as the system of record across trade counter, showroom and trade show selling, including specialist capabilities such as customer credit workflows, customer specific pricing, bin selling and line level VAT override.
